Default Home made trailers and Mn state inspections

I am cutting up a 93 F150 2wd. I am going to save the front hubs and the rear springs to possibly make a home made trailer. My brother says it is nearly impossible to get a home made trailer through inspection in Minnesota. Has anyone else done that in Minnesota?

No inspections in michigan. You need a weight slip and receipts to prove you paid sales tax on the material used in the trailer.....they never even check if you built a trailer....$75.00 and you have a registration paper, and a permanent plate for the trailer .No yearly renewals.

Who comes out in AL? In VA the state police have to come out and make sure the VIN is on it and look it over, yearly inspections are required for 3k and over GVW's.

Just take it to the dmv when u go to get your tags ... No limit on gvw, they don't even ask, most all trailers in Alabama are rolling death traps anyway

Anyone know anything about trailer registration in the State of Maine?
I use to see a lot of trailers here in Maryland with out of State Maine tags on them and I know the people who owned the trailers live her in Maryland.
I did ask a few of them how they done this, all they would tell me was it was cheaper to get Maine tags for trailers and that it was legal to do so (They had Maine plates on their trailers only and still lived in Maryland with Maryland plates on their trucks/cars )????????? Russ

For $100 in VA I can have a permanent registration on the trailer. I can see the Maine registration if you can do it on larger commercial trailers, but it looks like its cheaper for me to do the permanent reg. in VA.

In AL I have to pay property taxes on the trailers with permanent tags every year

Same here, but they are cheaper then $20 a year so I'd rather just have the VA tags on my trailer, also the property taxes go down to nothing over time.
