We are in Palm Springs, Ca and just discovered our Demco tow
bar has cracked and broken. Does anyone know where to go in this area
for a new tow bar? We tow an 04 Saturn Vue. We have to leave in 2
weeks. Sounds like repair will be too expensive.

Hi,sorry to hear of ur problem. Get hold of
Demco and ask where their nearest dealer is located to u. Also I am not
sure but I think u can replace it with a Blue Ox. I would ask Blue Ox if
the 2 are compatible
lots luck dave silva __________________

which tow bar is better blue ox or demco? and
do they break often? I have read several posts where this has happened.
What caused the break?

Yes we did contact Demco earlier. Seems they redesigned our model (Alluminator). There are no parts
for ours, a 2002 model. They did send dealer names but all around LA.
We just bought a used Blue Ox from a RV shop in Indio. It does fit our
brackets on car. We will see how things go. Certainly cheaper than
new. Looks like it is in good shape. We had to do something as we are
leaving the area in 2 weeks.
Note: I haven't heard anything about breaking being a common problem but????

Just another comment: We feel so very lucky!
We avoided a probable Norcold fire in Oct and now have a beautiful
residential Samsung.
Now we are lucky to have spotted the cracked and separated arm on the
tow bar. We have visited 48 states since retiring in 2007. Lots of
miles! What a wonderful, enjoyable lifestyle. Many new friends.
Thanks also to IRV2.

Glad you got it worked out. FWIW, I have never heard of a Blue Ox tow bar breaking in this manner.
Good luck. Rick

Maybe it was a problem with that bar and the
reason for the redesign, but no, breaking the towbars is not a common
thing. I've seen broken brackets or ones torn loose when mounting the
bolts weren't checked.
